  Description
    Abstract:
      This is a ArcView shape file of State-wide highways for Oklahoma State. 
    Purpose:
      This highways data set was prepared by the Center for Spatial Analysis at the 
      University of Oklahoma to provide information about the highways within 
      Oklahoma State as provided by 2000 TIGER/Line files of the Census Bureau. 
      The TIGER/Line data for the individual counties was transformed into an 
      ArcView shape file for the entire Oklahoma State. This highways layer has 
      been generated by updating the original TIGER/Line highway features, in part, 
      through digitizing and attribute correction on the Cfcc codes and the Fenames.

      The accurate against Federal Information Processing Standards
      (FIPS), FIPS Publication 6-4, and FIPS-55 at the 100% level for the codes
      and base names.  The remaining attribute information has been examined 
      but has not been fully tested for accuracy.
  Logical_Consistency_Report:
      The highways data was originally derived from TIGER/Line 
      2000 files of the Bureau of the Census. TIGER/Line files were originally
      digitized at a scale of 1:100,000 to an accuracy of 160 ft. 
  Completeness_Report:
    The compiler embodies the syntax of the 1998 version of the Content Standard 
    for Digital Geospatial Metadata, known as FGDC-STD-001-1998 and also supports 
    the Biological Data Profile of that standard, FGDC-STD-001.1-1999. Local extensions 
    to the standard are permitted and a mechanism is provided 
    that allows these extensions to be described to the compiler.

ENTITY_AND_ATTRIBUTE_INFORMATION

  Overview_Description
    Entity_and_Attribute_Overview:  This shape file contains TIGER/Line highways data 
      for the entire Oklahoma State created by appending the individual highway coverages 
      for all the counties in the State. The highways data set contain features of Feature 
      Class A, Road, with CFCC codes ranging from A11 through A37.  Some corrections 
      have been made to the original TIGER/Line highways dataset (both topology and 
      attributes) to derive this highways dataset. The TIGER/Line files, in general, contain 
      data describing three major types of features/entities;
      Line Features -
      1) Roads
      2) Railroads
      3) Hydrography
      4) Miscellaneous transportation features and selected power lines and pipe lines
      5) Political and statistical boundaries
      Landmark Features -
      1) Point landmarks, e.g., schools and churches.
      2) Area landmarks, e.g., Parks and cemeteries.
      3) Key geographic locations (KGLs), e.g., apartment buildings and factories.
      Polygon features -
      1) Geographic entity codes for areas used to tabulate the 1990 census statistical data
      and current geographic areas
      2) Locations of area landmarks
      3) Locations of KGLs
      The line features and polygon information form the majority of data in the TIGER/Line
      files.
      Some of the data/attributes describing the lines include coordinates, feature identifiers
      (names), CFCCs (used to identify the most noticeable characteristic of a feature), address 
      ranges, and geographic entity codes.  
      The Census TIGER/Line data base uses collections of spatial objects (points, lines, and
      polygons) to model or describe real-world geography.  The Census Bureau uses these
      spatial objects to represent features such as streets, rivers, and political boundaries.
